There is so much opportunity for evil to come in and take over. Today’s fear, hatred, uncertainty is not new. These days will play over and over again, the topic or tragedy may be different – but our response seems to be the same. We speak without thinking or speak without concern for what others might think.
This of course is a generalization! Many people do wonderful things. The words “we” and “they” are easy to throw around. Your actions should not reflect on your neighbors or vice versa. One wrong doing of a person in a particular demographic does not mean that all people in that demographic are evil or murderers or abusers.
As Christians though we should look different. The world should know us by our love. It is harder some days than others to hold back isn’t it? Particular topics may get us riled up. Our access to social media and news broadcasts can quickly feed us information that only fuels that fire. To the world our actions do reflect on our God. While we know that our God is sovereign, good, trustworthy and shows unfailing love despite how we mess that up – not everyone understands that.
The verse below is something to reflect on.
For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.
1 Peter 3:10-11
Your words are powerful, your positive actions = love! Let’s together reflect our God to the community.
Here at Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries we are pro life! We are here to help mothers with unplanned pregnancies. We provide a stable home, a program to follow, and love to guide them through a time that can bring life or take it away. This is our cause; our way of helping the community.
But it takes all of us. While we individually might not be able to fight every cause – together we can make a difference around us. Your cause might be to fight racism, human trafficking, women’s rights, abortion, homelessness, abuse – whatever social issue you are passionate about. Let’s recognize all life is valuable!
Pray for those affected by life's circumstances.
Do something no matter how small.
Share Jesus’ love!
Do good and seek peace!
